You take 20 minutes to travel from your home to the school. What if you travel at the same speed to fly out of the solar system? How much time will you take? This workshop will give you an answer to this and more.
A workshop to understand our solar system in a hands-on, demonstartion driven discussion will build the students' spatial thinking skills along with analytical reasoning of the relative sizes of the planets. Needless to say, creative thinking is at the center of this activity
Students will compare the relative sizes of the objects in our solar system and model a scaled version using things around them. They will also take a journey through our solar system and understsnd why Pluto is still a planet, albeit a dwarf.
This workshop is one among the introductory sessions on space science and it will set the pace for understanding advanced concepts in this domain
Since almost all objects in our solar system are spherical, you can get a regular sized Football as the center of our solar system, a compass box, pencil, color pencils, and a notepad
